Our Mission
Compassionate, Whole-Person Hospice Care
BeLoved steps into the full breadth of a person’s end-of-life journey, supports them and their loved ones, and creates an atmosphere of compassion, presence, and connection.
Many hospices prioritize efficiency over connection. At BeLoved, we seek to embrace and expand the full spectrum of end-of-life care. This helps create a supportive, attentive atmosphere for everyone in the room, including patients, family members, loved ones, and caregivers.
The BeLoved Difference
We meet patients and families where they are—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. By honoring the whole person and their journey, we provide the most complete and compassionate end-of-life experience possible.
Intentionality and Purpose: Our founders saw a broken corporate hospice system and chose to build something flexible and deeply intentional. Being free of a corporate or protocol-driven structure, we focus on what matters: people, connection, and care.
Presence and Mindfulness: We believe in the power of presence. Whether sitting quietly with a family in grief or helping a patient live their final moments with joy and dignity, we are here to create space, connection, and peace.
Whole Person, Whole Journey: Beyond standard or corporate hospice care, we offer services like death doulas, massage, acupuncture, and music therapy in order to deliver the best possible experience for patients and their families.
Philosophy of Care
When we visit someone’s home or cross the threshold of a facility, we’re entering into whole-life spaces, complete with deep emotions, relationships, spiritual practices, and cultural beliefs. Being present, attentive, and intentional in such spaces requires the following:
- Deep Listening: We bring sensitivity, presence, and even silence when there are no words.
- Cultural Respect: We honor family cultures, spiritual practices, and beliefs.
- Adaptability: We respond to requests, family dynamics, and cues we receive with calm confidence.
In many hospice situations, families can forgotten. Our care extends to families. Sometimes, it’s as simple as checking in with them, sharing a cup of coffee in another room of the house, or sitting with them in silence after a particularly emotional visit. We are here to guide families through difficult dynamics and decisions, and we stay connected long after a loved one is gone.
Our Caregivers
A BeLoved person honors liminal spaces, and is able to support moments of transition, uncertainty, and deep emotion.
We encourage our people to bring their whole self to the work. We value the skills, interests, and ideas our people bring, whether they’re interested in starting a newsletter, coordinating care in new ways, or finding other creative solutions that benefit patients, families, and each other.
Our professionals and volunteers are:
- Open-minded and genuine
- Present
- Able to hold space for others, even in silence
- Collaborative and creative
- Willing to bring their full self, talents, and passions to the work.
We always look for ways to empower and support each other. We understand that grief doesn’t wait for scheduled meetings. It’s constant. To serve others in moments of grieving and transition, we create an environment where someone is always available, whether it’s a small group, a team-wide meetups, or a one-on-one conversation with someone you trust.
Impact Summary
The End of Life Is Not the End of Living
A person’s end-of-life journey isn’t just about the moments they have left. It’s about how they live those moments, and the people with whom they share them. BeLoved Hospice honors this time, and respects each person’s journey with steady, compassionate, and complete hospice care.
Hospice is a State of Care
BeLoved looks for ways to leave something vital behind with each visit. Our approach focuses on the whole person: their comfort, dignity, and well-being, as well as the needs of family, caretakers, and the spaces where they live.
End-of-life care is about much more than reducing pain or checking tasks off lists. It’s about creating moments of beauty and connection, whether that means singing a favorite song, using essential oils to soothe, tidying a space, or sitting in silence with families.
Our caregivers bring a sense of connection, understanding, and a deep respect for the lives of everyone we encounter to every setting.
Our patients receive more frequent and meaningful visits. For instance: seven CNA visits a week (is an option) compared to the industry standard of one or two.
Beyond standard hospice care, we offer services like death doulas, massage, acupuncture, and music therapy. Our goal is to deliver the best possible experience for patients and their families.
We believe in presence over protocols. Many hospices prioritize efficiency over connection. At BeLoved, we stay. We listen. We create a thriving atmosphere for everyone in the room—patients, families, caregivers.
Grief doesn’t follow a schedule. It ripples outward and can stay with people for a very long time. With this in mind, we seek to create moments of peace, presence, silence, relief, and compassion, in order to lift the weight of difficult days.
